Instagram announced last month that they will start running ads in your Instagram feed.
According to Instagram, ads will look like the following: “We have big ideas for the future, and part of making them happen is building Instagram into a sustainable business. In the next couple months, you may begin seeing an occasional ad in your Instagram feed if you’re in the United States. Seeing photos and videos from brands you don’t follow will be new, so we’ll start slow. We’ll focus on delivering a small number of beautiful, high-quality photos and videos from a handful of brands that are already great members of the Instagram community.”
Just like how Facebook started slowly by adding ads into their feed, Instagram will start slowly with high quality brands and will eventually let other brands start advertising as well. Obviously camps can’t buy Instagram ads yet, but this will eventually be a huge opportunity for camps to reach children between the age of 8 and 13 with targeted messages. I’m looking forward to seeing what these ads will look like and I’ll keep you updated as this rolls out.
